March 31

Karen had her feeding tube removed today.  It wasn't exactly expected this soon but Karen is in a much better mood now that it's gone.  Visiting Becca today was much easier without it and the bag that usually goes with it.  We went for two visits, once in the afternoon around lunch when Karen still had the tube (though no feeding bag at that time) and again in the evening when she no longer had the tube.

During both visits Karen was able to walk the entire way without using a wheelchair.  It seems like such a small thing to walk a hundred yards but at this point it feels more like a brisk, mile walk to Karen rather than a short walk from the car.

The evening nurse said Becca is a little over 5lbs 2oz.  She still has some trouble with her blood oxygen levels but nothing too unusual at this point.  She is improving there and did take about half a bottle today.
